Description: This new house is set back on it’s lot to align with an adjacent small wood framed house to one side. A large bronze oriel at the parlor level mitigates this setback by relating to the other neighbor’s position at the street line. The façade is constructed of gently scalloped dimensionally cut brownstone that catch the raking sunset light that shines across New York Harbor. The house takes all the elements of a typical 18th Century townhouse (stoop, window arrangement, cornice, areaway) and adapts them to the way we live and build today.
