Description: Our submission to this open competition for the expansion of Asplund’s iconic modern library was based upon maintaining his masterplan and extending the landscape of Observatory Hill between the existing buildings. The landscape “fingers” interlocked with the slab buildings to form a series of monumental floating reading rooms resonating with Asplund’s original.
